Founded in 2010 and based in Houston, Texas, Work Well, PLLC started by helping Department of Transportation (DOT) companies to become compliant with random drug and alcohol consortium programs and the mandated DOT Medical Card by performing DOT Physicals. Since then, in response to numerous industry requests for helping with reducing work related injuries and associated workers compensation expenses Dr. Scheiffele, DC also a chiropractic treating medical professional and Certified Posture Exercise Professional (CPEP) specializing in body biomechanics and postural evaluations, expanded his existing practice, Chiropractic Therapy Center PC, into helping employers control work-related injury cost. Dr. Scheiffele, DC through his chiropractic practice saw many work related injuries and always felt there had to be some better way to prevent all the many unnecessary injuries he was treating in his practice. Thus Work Well, PLLC was created and specializes in Pre-Employment or Post-Offer Physicals, Post Injury Evaluations, early Return-to-Work, Fit for Duty, Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE’s), injury prevention and wellness programs.
Through computerized testing software and equipment we are reliably able to provide employers constant Quantifiable Objective Physical Evaluations and effective management of claims and lost work time along with quality treatment and medical care. By reducing or minimizing the subjective nature that is normally found in pre-employment physicals provided today, Work Well, PLLC’s comprehensive physical evaluations help document maximum strength measurements, sustainability of those strengths (fatigue rate) and any muscular deficiencies or weakness that may be present. Dr. Scheiffele, DC further expanded is education and became certified in FCEs, so in conjunction with our job simulation and physician physical we are able to provide mini FCEs that give employers an objective recordable baseline of data about the employee’s physical functional performance. These testing evaluations are invaluable in the rehabilitation process or in assisting with the reduction of workers compensation claims. State statutes support employers to only be responsible for the injury or degree of aggravation that are caused on the job. The results of our reports are not only quickly provided to the employer in a detail and easy to read manner, but the medical information is obtained and measured utilizing many standards from the Department of Labor’s (DOL) five classifications of work and the American Medical Association (AMA) Guides just to name a few. This helps both your medical team and attorneys with bulletproof indisputable information if a lawsuit is ever filed. We also mandate that our testing is compliant with the other federal and state agencies including but not limited to: Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Uniform Hiring Guidelines, Workers Compensation Statutes and Ergonomics Guidelines and Standards.
Work Well, PLLC has grown to include comprehensive Physical Evaluations for employers and companies of any industry. Thus, assuring the employer that they are hiring and maintaining people for any job position, ranging from clerical personnel to very heavy industrial laborers, with the appropriate strength and ability to safely perform their jobs without the concern of injuring themselves or other coworkers. Employees also benefit in the event of an injury, for they can have confidence that they will be fairly rehabilitated to maximum medical improvement (MMI) compared to the previous Post-Offer baseline and know when they can safely return to work without fear of being reinjured and/or compensated accordingly. Ultimately, this turns public and private corporations, municipalities, self-insured workers compensation funded companies, statewide trade associations and school districts a much safer and claims free workplace. When less injuries occurs everyone seems to benefit.
